Abstract

This article talks about the conditions in which ITS social work students obtain their livelihoods. It is a descriptive study of quantitative approach. 80 surveys of students enrolled in 2017 were obtained. The sample was simple randomized. The results show that 50% of the sample of students was between 18 and 24 years old. The other large group of students is 31 to 40 years old, representing 23%. As for sex, it is mostly female (67%), which represents the historical trend of the social work career. The origin of them is urban in 83%. The residence is the metropolitan area of Asunción or Gran Asunción. 65% of the population surveyed declare having their own home and 65% say they have family responsibility. The main care tasks focus on 31% towards children. 57% are employed, of these, 60% are in a public entity and 28.3% in private entities.
The workload is 8 to 10 hours at 52%. 45.7% develop work activities related to social work. As for free time, 11.3% excel in going out with family children and 8.8% of household chores, these trends reaffirm the idea of high weight in the roles historically assigned to women and which excels in The life of the students.
