Abstract

Background: The COVID-19 epidemic was declared by WHO a public health emergency of international concern on January 30, 2020.

Objective: To determine the knowledge, attitudes and practices of the Paraguayan population in the year 2022.

Methods: An observational, descriptive, cross-sectional, descriptive study was carried out during the month of May 2022. Non-probabilistic convenience sampling. Persons residing in Paraguayan territory were included. The Bao-Liang et al. instrument was used, translated and adapted to Spanish by Rios et al. 

Results:100 surveys were analyzed, 71% of the respondents were female, 62% resided in the central department of the country and 56% said they were students. 93% of the respondents completed the survey and 93% of the respondents completed the survey. Ninety-three percent of the respondents gave an optimal score regarding their knowledge of COVID-19.

Conclusion: Most of the respondents have an optimal performance on their knowledge of COVID-19, they have favorable attitudes and most of them maintain good prevention practices with the use of masks.
