Abstract

Background: Lumbar disc herniation is an increasingly frequent affectation in adults, it causes intense pain and physical limitations to those who suffer this sickness; therefore, its early diagnosis is very important to be able to counteract the symptoms.

The case: 67-year-old male patient, known to be hypertensive, on regular treatment with Losartan 50mg/day. He was admitted to the emergency department with a 1-week history of intense pain in the lumbar region that radiated to the lower limb. The physical examination was able to verify chronic symptoms of lumbar pain, thanks to the CMR it was possible to diagnose lumbar disc herniation

Conclusion: Lumbar hernias are very common pathologies that mainly affect males between 50 and 60 years, for this reason we consider it important to highlight this case also considering its symptoms and the limitations that it can cause.
