Insomnio y apnea obstructiva del sueño comórbidos (COMISA) con bruxismo y movimientos periódicos de extremidades

Se presenta un caso clínico de COMISA (trastorno combinado de insomnio y apnea obstructiva del sueño), junto con bruxismo y movimientos periódicos de las extremidades. Se destaca la complejidad diagnóstica y terapéutica de esta condición, mediante el uso de herramientas clínicas y polisomnografía. Los hallazgos muestran fragmentación del sueño, hipoxia severa, y actividad muscular anormal. Se propone un manejo multidisciplinario que incluye pérdida de peso, CPAP y terapia cognitivo-conductual. Se resalta la alta prevalencia de trastornos del sueño en países latinoamericanos, la relación bidireccional entre insomnio y AOS, y la importancia de detectar comorbilidades. Finalmente, se puntualiza la necesidad de abordaje multidisciplinario, ya que estos trastornos se asocian a riesgo cardiovascular, depresión y disminución de la productividad.
