Abstract

Education is a human right, and for this reason, it is necessary to remove the multiple existing barriers so that no person is excluded from the educational system, as established by Law 5.136/2013. This guarantees an inclusive educational model. However, from the analysis of the educational experience of five adolescents with low vision, it is found that the predominant paradigm in the institutions attended by the people interviewed is that of integration, where students must make efforts to fit into the system. The stories show that the educational process, in this sense, has been characterized by an unsafe environment, without accessibility, and with multiple barriers to learning.
