Abstract

Soil microbiology is a valuable tool for improving crop productivity and sustainability. The absence of proper soil management practices negatively affects production. This work aimed to evaluate the response to the use of commercial formulations based on Trichoderma harzianum and Trichoderma brevicompactum and biofertilizer based on Bradyrhizobium japonicum and Endogone spp., in strawberry cultivation. The experiment was carried out at the Experimental Field of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences (FCA) in Caazapá, the strawberry variety used was Festival; all plants received the same N-P-K, cow manure, and lime fertilization. The experimental design consisted of randomized complete blocks (RCBD), with four treatments: T1: No inoculation, T2: Biofertilizer, T3: Trichoderma, and T4: Biofertilizer + Trichoderma, with five replications. The number of fruits per plant, the fresh weight of the fruits, the total yield, and the percentage of leaf area with phytopathological symptoms were evaluated. Twenty-nine harvests were carried out from July to September of 2024. The results show that the treatments had no significant effect on the number of fruits per plant, the fresh weight of the fruit, or the yield, with an overall average of 13.14 fruits pl-1, 12.97 g. fruit-1 and 165 g.pl-1. In contrast, a significant reduction of the affected leaf area was observed compared to the control without application. Furthermore, no differences were observed in the affected leaf area at the different evaluation times when comparing Trichoderma harzianum /Trichoderma brevicompactum and the biofertilizer, or the combination of both. Therefore, the application of these treatments to reduce foliar damage is considered to have a positive effect.
