Corrections, Retractions and Version Control
Anales de la Facultad de Ciencias Médicas protects the integrity of the scholarly record through corrections, expressions of concern, and retractions, according to the nature and seriousness of the issue.
A correction will be published when an error affects metadata, attribution, or part of the content without invalidating the main findings. The notice will identify the article and clearly explain the change.
Retraction may be considered when findings are unreliable because of serious error or misconduct, substantial redundant publication, ethical breaches, or circumstances that make the integrity of the article unsustainable. The content will remain identifiable, clearly marked as retracted, and linked to the corresponding notice.
An expression of concern may be issued when serious doubts exist but an investigation remains incomplete or the available evidence is insufficient.
Substantial changes will not be made silently. Each case will be assessed according to the available evidence and through procedures consistent with COPE recommendations.
