Use of Artificial Intelligence in Publishing

Anales de la Facultad de Ciencias Médicas requires transparency in the use of artificial intelligence and AI-assisted technologies during manuscript preparation, analysis, translation, or editing.

Authors must disclose the name of the tool, its purpose, and how it was used whenever it generated or modified intellectual content. Conventional spelling, grammar, or formatting functions do not require disclosure.

Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, references, data, analyses, and conclusions of their work. AI tools do not meet authorship criteria and may not be listed as authors.

AI must not be used to fabricate or improperly alter data, participants, results, references, images, or scientific evidence. Identifiable clinical data, personal information, confidential manuscripts, or protected material must not be entered into external platforms without authorization.

Reviewers and editors must preserve confidentiality and must not upload manuscripts, review reports, or editorial files to external tools that could compromise the information.

When artificial intelligence forms part of the research method, its use, validation, and limitations must be described in sufficient detail to permit evaluation and reproducibility.
