Predominant curricular goals in the General Objectives, Description of the Graduate and Subjects in General Surgery in the School of Medical Sciences

This is a study of the predominant curricular goals in the General Objectives, Description of the Graduate and the subjects in General Surgery in the fifth year in Medicine at the School of Medical Sciences of the National University of Asuncion.
The specific aims were:
- To identify the predominant curricular goals in the General Objectives and in the Description of the Graduate.
- To analyze the curricular goals as applied to the subjects in surgery in the fifth year.
- To establish a comparison between the curricular goals applied in these subjects and the General Objectives and the Description of the Graduate.
The technique used was bibliographical research of the above-mentioned documents, as well as a series of bits of information collected on this topic. The Research Hypothesis states: The predominant curricular goals in subjects in general surgery, in the fifth year of medicine, are not concordant with the general objectives of the School of Medical Sciences and with the description of the graduate, as established in the official syllabus.
The null hypothesis is demonstrated: the results show there is full concordance between the variables studied and the curricular goals analyzed. No discrepancy is found.
