University social responsibility in the hospital setting: integration of the internal environment, health education, and ecological commitment

La responsabilidad social universitaria (RSU) en la educación médica implica una transformación
del modelo asistencial, formativo y se orienta hacia una práctica centrada en el paciente, su
familia y el entorno, como asimismo, hacia una alineación institucional. Esta última engloba las
necesidades prioritarias de la sociedad y se concreta mediante la integración de la docencia,
la investigación y la atención en salud. En este contexto, el hospital universitario adquiere una
dimensión singular, y se constituye en un espacio en donde la atención clínica, la formación
de profesionales, la práctica asistencial y la interacción con la comunidad convergen de forma
inseparable
