About the Journal: Mission and Scope

Anales de la Facultad de Ciencias Médicas is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal published on a continuous publication basis by the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the National University of Asunción through its responsible editorial unit.

Its mission is to disseminate original research findings, rigorous reviews, and relevant academic contributions in medicine and the health sciences, with an emphasis on methodological quality, research integrity, and the usefulness of knowledge for clinical practice, education, health-care management, and health policy development.

The journal is intended for researchers, educators, and professionals in the field of medical sciences, as well as members of the national and international scientific community.

Aims and Scope

The journal welcomes contributions related to, among others, the following areas:

  • Surgical sciences.
  • Biomedical and basic sciences.
  • Public health, epidemiology, and health systems.

Manuscripts are selected exclusively on the basis of their thematic relevance, originality, scientific quality, ethical compliance, and contribution to the field, without discrimination based on nationality, gender, institutional affiliation, academic position, ideological orientation, or the authors’ ability to pay.
