About the Journal

ANALES Journal of the Faculty of Medical Sciences

The ANALES Journal is the scientific publication of the Faculty of Medical Sciences at the National University of Asunción, published by EFACIM (Faculty of Medical Sciences Press), which, in addition to providing academic endorsement, contributes resources to support the journal’s dissemination. 

Since 2017, the journal has been published quarterly (April, August, and December) and is currently available exclusively online. Articles published in ANALES are hosted and indexed in: SciELO (Scientific Electronic Library Online), OJS (Open Journal Systems), BVS-Regional (Paraguayan Virtual Health Library), LILACS–BIREME (Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences), LATINDEX, Google Scholar, DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals), ROAD (Directory of Open Access Scholarly Resources), REDIB (Ibero-American Network for Innovation and Scientific Knowledge), DIALNET, BASE, and ISSN (International Standard Serial Number). The social media platforms used are Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook. 

All manuscripts are reviewed by at least two members of the Editorial Board and/or specialists in the field, who evaluate the article and subsequently issue a decision that may or may not be favorable. Once the authors have made the necessary corrections, the manuscript is sent to the Editor-in-Chief.  

The journal publishes original articles in the field of medicine, editorials, review articles, case reports, continuing medical education articles, letters to the editor, obituaries, and other types of submissions. 

Manuscripts must be unpublished and must not have been submitted to another publisher at the time of submission. To comply with this policy, each author must provide a sworn statement attesting that the work has not been submitted to another publisher for publication.

The journal Anales de la Facultad de Ciencias Médicas is distributed free of charge. All materials published on this site are freely available at no cost to authors. It provides immediate open access to its content, based on the principle of offering the public free access to research.

Articles are accepted in Spanish and English. 

The journal accepts pre-published or pre-print articles on servers that use this methodology.
