Resumen
Introducción: Un control adecuado de los niveles de estrés de los cuidadores de pacientes podría prevenir el desarrollo de enfermedades en esta población, al igual que mejora el cuidado de los pacientes a su cargo.
El objetivo consiste en determinar la existencia de relación entre el nivel de estrés en los cuidadores de pacientes con patrones de consumo de alcohol en los servicios de Clínica Médica del Hospital de Clínicas de san Lorenzo en el 2018
Métodos: Estudio observacional analítico, transversal con muestreo no probabilístico de casos consecutivos a conveniencia. Se estudió a los cuidadores de pacientes hospitalizados en los servicios de Clínica Médica del Hospital de Clínicas de San Lorenzo, Paraguay. Se utilizó el cuestionario Caregiver Self Assesment Questionaire para medir los niveles de estrés y el cuestionario AUDIT-C para evaluación de los patrones de consumo de alcohol. IC=95%.
Resultados: Sobre una muestra de 55 cuidadores de pacientes se encontró que el 77,78% eran mujeres, con una media de edad de 38,35 13,56 años. El 87,72% tenía un nivel de estrés elevado y el 14,04% de los sujetos tenían un consumo anormal de alcohol. Se encontró asociación significativa entre nivel de estrés elevado y consumo anormal de alcohol ( =5,3980, p=0,02016), pero no se encontró diferencias significativas entre los sexos en el análisis estratificado.
Conclusión: Se encontró una relación significativa (p<0,05) entre el nivel elevado de estrés en los sujetos con un consumo anormal de alcohol
