Abstract

Thomas Piketty, makes an alternative analysis with systematic data of the functioning of capitalism since its birth, of the growing inequality, which not only implies stagnation, but also threatens democracy.
What Capital and Ideology does is to study the transition from pre-capitalist (unequalizing) economies to capitalism, including colonized economies (especially India), and referring -always with historical series- to communist and post-communist economies.
