Individuals to be feared: "subjects of insecurity insecurity" pointed out in the editorials of the of the newspaper Última Hora (2013-2018)

Abstract

The work considers the subjective dimension of insecurity. In such proposed, preliminarily, the newspaper Última Hora has been chosen in all the editorials originated between January 2013 and December 2018. A journalistic analysis of the opinion genrewas carried out through the description of the arguments presented in the editorials on insecurity. The variable was established in “the agents of insecurity that have been indicated as such”. It is worth noting that, of the nine indicated, only three were typically recognized as subjects of insecurity. The others were legal groups that have fallen under the image of insecurity. Indeed, just as anyone could be a victim of an event in this area, aggressors have also appeared, regardless of their status, position, or social function.
