Abstract

This research analyzes the relationship between food sovereignty and types of authority in peasant organizations through a qualitative study. A common understanding of the concept was found as the right to define one's own production and marketing policies. Training is key to socializing the approach, although practices are mainly limited to the productive sphere. Legal-rational authority predominates, favoring participation. However, there are challenges in leadership renewal and the inclusion of women and young people. Implementation faces structural obstacles beyond organizational capacities.
