Manifestations of Violence in the University Environment from the Perspective of Social Work Students at the Faculty of Social Sciences (FACSO) of the National University of Asunción (UNA)

Abstract

Violence is present in all areas of society and is not an absent topic in the university environment. The objective of the research whose results are presented in this article was to identify and describe the manifestations of violence within the Social Work Career of the Faculty of Social Sciences (FACSO) of the National University of Asunción (UNA), attended predominantly by students. of the female sex, made up of a mostly young population between 19 and 29 years of age. It is a mixed study, with a qualitative and quantitative approach, cross-sectional. Among the manifestations of violence, those that occur through relationships and/or social interactions have been described. The most notable results indicate that the main manifestation of violence is verbal, 77%, which indicates that the respondents have at some time witnessed verbal violence between colleagues, which is framed in symbolic violence, does not leave physical consequences, They often go unnoticed and are even naturalized.
