Trastorno límite de la personalidad y trastorno bipolar: del solapamiento de criterios diagnósticos al solapamiento clínico

El solapamiento de los síntomas clínicos del trastorno límite de la personalidad y de los síntomas del trastorno bipolar (especialmente del trastorno bipolar tipo II) es frecuente en los servicios de Psiquiatría, tanto de consulta externa como de urgencias. Frecuentemente, los pacientes aquejados de una de estas dos patologías se presentan con sintomatología florida, generada por la inestabilidad de sus presentaciones clínicas, lo que conlleva múltiples hospitalizaciones y polimedicación.
