Adaptation of Hospital Management in Response to Dengue: The Evolution of Care in a Hospital in Minas Gerais Over a Decade of Epidemiological Challenges up to the 2024 Outbreak

This study aimed to systematically review the strategies adopted by hospital management in response to dengue epidemics in Minas Gerais, Brazil. A scoping review was conducted using the PubMed, SciELO, Scopus, BVS, and Medline databases, covering scientific publications from 2019 to 2024. The search criteria included specific terms such as “hospital management,” “dengue,” and “administrative strategies.” From the identified studies, those addressing rapid triage strategies, clinical management protocols, continuous training of healthcare teams, and the use of digital technologies for monitoring and decision-making were selected.The resulting data matrix revealed that well-structured and evidence-based interventions are essential for optimizing resources and reducing complications during epidemic outbreaks. The thematic analysis reinforced the importance of early triage to identify severe cases, ongoing professional training, and the integrated use of digital technologies. It is concluded that such strategies are fundamental to increasing the efficiency of hospital management and minimizing the impact of dengue epidemics on public health systems.
