PURPOSE AND SCOPE
The Journal KERA YVOTY [Utopia, in guaraní language]: reflections on the social issue, is a technical-scientific publication of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Universidad Nacional de Asunción. FACSO-UNA since the year 2016. It is a space for reflection on the various manifestations of the social question generated in modern and contemporary Paraguay and related to the development of the social sciences.
Aimed at the academic community, professionals, researchers, policy makers, educators, representatives of social movements and the general public, who wish to spread knowledge, exchange experiences and reflect on different aspects of social life within the framework of the social sciences.
Its objective is to publish academic-scientific research that broadens the understanding and contributes to the understanding of today's society. It accepts empirical, methodological and theoretical papers, both national and international. Its thematic scope is within the Social Sciences, including: social policy, social change, social theory, political science, sociology, anthropology, social work.
Contributions may refer to various theoretical and methodological approaches, allowing for a plurality of sufficiently argued concepts.
The works that can be published in the Kera Yvoty Journal can be: original articles, review articles, theoretical papers and essays, bibliographic reviews of recent publications.
The Kera Yvoty Journal is registered in ISSN with the number: 2519-7797 (print format) and 2788-9572 (online format) and with the abbreviated title Kera Yvoty.

LANGUAGE
Contributions submitted to the journal may be presented in Spanish, Portuguese or English.
FREQUENCY AND PUBLICATION PERIOD
In its beginnings, Kera Yvoty Journal was published on an annual basis, but from 2023, it adopted a semi-annual frequency. It publishes the first issue in the period March to August and the second, September to February.
Contributions are received on a permanent basis throughout the year through the Editorial Management Platform.
FREE EDITORIAL PROCESS
Submission of contributions by authors, review, editing and publication are completely free of charge.
ORIGINALITY OF CONTRIBUTIONS
Contributions submitted must meet the following requirements: be original and unpublished, not be under evaluation in other journals, include the signed Authors' Letter highlighting the main contribution of the paper and stating that the article has not been sent to other journals during the review process..
These criteria are essential to start the editorial process.
OPEN ACCESS
Kera Yvoty Journal is open access; all content is freely available to users. Users may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search or link to the full text of articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without prior permission from the author.
CREATIVE COMMONS LICENSE
All the content of the magazine is published under the Creative Commons CC BY License, which allows users to retain copyright while being able to share, copy and redistribute; adapt, remix, transform and build upon the text of the articles in any medium or format for any purpose, including commercially. These actions do not require prior permission from the author, it is only required to cite and reference the source for use.
PRESERVATION POLICY
The journal uses the LOCKSS to create a distributed archive among participating libraries, enabling these libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for preservation and restoration purposes. All of the journal's digital content is on the Registros The Keepers for long-term management.
The files of both the Editorial Management Platform (Open Journal System, OJS) as those of the journal are managed by the National Computing Center (CNC), and system backups and upgrades are performed on a regular basis.
SELF-ARCHIVING POLICY
The journal accepts to publish contributions submitted on preprint servers.
INTEROPERABILITY AND DATA HARVESTERS
The journal uses the protocol OAI-PMH (Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting). This system allows other distribution services to collect the metadata of the journal.
