Introduction:
Hypertension is a chronic disease that affects a significant portion of the population, with serious implications for cardiovascular health.
Materials and Methods:
This study investigated the level of knowledge about high blood pressure among medical students from the National University of Asunción, Paraguay. An observational, transversal and descriptive design taken from the Chumo G study was used to evaluate knowledge about general aspects, risk factors and preventive measures of high blood pressure.
Results:
The results showed a high level of knowledge among students, with 95.83% classified as high. Additionally, a significant association was identified between knowledge and the presence of family history of hypertension.
Conclusions:
These findings highlight the importance of education about hypertension in the training of healthcare professionals and underscore the need for preventive interventions to address this chronic disease.
