The Revista de Medicina Familiar y Comunidad maintains an editorial infrastructure aligned with international scholarly communication standards: persistent article identifiers, metadata interoperability, long-term digital preservation and visibility for authors, institutions and readers.

Its commitment to open science rests on identifiers and information systems that allow every published article to be discovered, cited, preserved and reused. Metadata are distributed through protocols that support harvesting by bibliographic catalogues, academic platforms and digital preservation services.

This page states transparently where the journal is present today, what infrastructure supports it, and which indexes remain part of the plan. Absence from a selective index does not imply lack of editorial rigor; it often reflects evaluation requirements, online age or admission calendars.

Persistent identification and quality metadata

The journal has online ISSN 3105-9899 (ISSN-L 3105-9899; online only). Each published article receives a primary DOI registered with Crossref (prefix 10.66476) and an archive DOI in Zenodo (prefix 10.5281), with structured metadata that support citation, tracking and interoperability.

OJS integrates ORCID for unambiguous author identification. Metadata are exposed through OAI-PMH (https://revistascientificas.una.py/index.php/mf/oai) for automatic harvesting.

Discovery and indexing — current status

Content is discoverable through standard protocols and academic discovery systems. The journal is currently present in:

  • Google Scholar
  • OpenAIRE (and related dissemination in the open-repository ecosystem)
  • Zenodo / archive DOI 10.5281 (and linked channels in that ecosystem)

This infrastructure makes articles visible and retrievable in directories and academic search engines. It does not, by itself, equal inclusion in every selective citation index; those goals appear in the plan below.

Open science and digital preservation

The journal follows open-science principles and transparent access and reuse policies:

  • Diamond open access (no APC) under CC BY 4.0
  • Articles on this platform as PDF and EPUB, with Crossref DOI and Zenodo deposit
  • Interoperability aligned with OpenAIRE
  • LOCKSS, CLOCKSS and PKP PN enabled in OJS, in addition to the Zenodo archive DOI (see About the Journal)

Barrier-free open access

Publication is free for authors and readers: there are no submission or article-processing charges. CC BY 4.0 allows reading, distribution, reuse and adaptation with appropriate attribution.

With presence on this platform since 2024 (Vol. 1), the journal continues to strengthen its place in the global scholarly information ecosystem.
