Abstract

Carbonates drinks are the main refreshment that are part of the diet of several people around the world. Carbonated drinks sweetened with sweeteners are among the leading substitutes for sugary drinks constantly consumed by young people and adults, these being determinants in the variation with increased glycemia of all the consumers.
An experimental study has been done, quantitative and cross-sectional by checking glucose levels on fasting and 30 minutes later of consuming sweetened carbonated drinks and those sweetened with sweeteners, on students of the first year 2023, of medicine, of the Facultad de Ciencias Médicas of the Universidad Nacional de Asunción
It was found that students who consumed sweetened drinks had an increased in glycemia, while those who consumed carbonated drinks with sweeteners had variations of decrease, increase and maintenance.
